Visit https://pennycontest2017.ourcommunity.org/2017/03/13/good-food-market and leave a supportive comment about our grant proposal for Lansing’s Eastside neighborhood! The more comments we get supporting our idea, the more likely our proposal is to become a finalist!
We raised money to build a drinking fountain at Foster Park because it’s a place we’ve been doing ministry for the past 10 years. The Foster Park neighborhood is one of Lansing’s poorest neighborhood statistically, is the home of Seeds CCDA director Noah Filipiak, and is where we are focusing our prayer efforts as we discern how we can stack multiple community development efforts in this neighborhood. We are currently praying about opening a “Good Food Market” adjacent to Foster Park where we can employ our at-risk teens as well as provide affordable healthy food the neighborhood.

Our board is meeting regularly and are in a prayer, discerning and planning stage on a big initiative. We are waiting to launch our website until the initiative we are planning is a “for sure” and not a “maybe.” Pray for us as we seek property and grants and open doors during this season. We’ll update you on details soon!
